My sweet Hank retired today...after 31 years with the same organization. That's rare this day and age, you know...a person staying with the same company for an entire career. I was sort of worried that the change would be hard on him. He's become very close to a lot of people over the years. There have also been quite a few people who have annoyed the zippiedeedoodah out of him over the years. I suppose that's par for the course in most every workplace too.
I got home from work this afternoon to find him sitting on the deck enjoying a gin and tonic after having floated in the pool for awhile. He appears to be coping with the change VERY well. I'm going to let him bask in the glory for a couple of weeks THEN the honey-do list comes out of the drawer.

Congrats to your hubby...and you, I think ;-) After my husband retired, it took us both a little time to adjust, but we both stay busy together and apart and we love the time together.

(btw...did you find a swimsuit?)
Congrats
ReplyDeleteIt's always fun catching up with you and your family! Congrats to Hank...bless his heart, I know you are itching to bring out the "honey-do" list! Even though I don't stop by to visit often enough, it's like going back home to visit someone in my hometown after being away for a long time. Your posts are so Southern and your sense of humor keeps me laughing!
ReplyDeleteCongrats! On another note - please don't ever stop blogging! You and your family are an inspiration to me!
