I'm sitting here in the kitchen roasting beets...I have no idea what I'm doing so we'll see what happens. But I digress...
Lorelai and four of her friends are in our family room eating veggie pizza, drinking diet coke and having a glorious time. I'm chuckling just because they're laughing with such JOY. Just now they're discussing every boy that EVER did any ONE of them wrong and the laughter has turned joyfully WICKED.
I'm all of a sudden recalling once when Hank and I had a little falling out LONG before we were dating exclusively. I was probably 18 and he was 21 or so. My best friend Karen called him and let him have it...NOBODY treated HER best friend like THAT was her message and he got it loud and clear. Being the fast learner that he is, he never made THAT mistake again.
SO...BOYS...Tom, Dick, Harry...hear this! Don't mess with this group of petite belles. You'll be taking on a fight you can't win.

Thank you kindly for dropping by my blog for a visit! I am enjoying visiting your corner of the blogosphere and will surely come back!
ReplyDeleteThat is so true!! Listen to this hilarious tale - When my PD was in college, one of her sorority sister's boyfriends did the unthinkable and broke up with the sister. Well, then to make matters worse, he told her that one of the things he dreaded the most was all her sorority sisters hating him. {I think the fact that he admitted that showed his depth of stupidity} haha - I thought that really exemplified this dynamic! Don't you just love it!!
ReplyDeleteMy daughter had that h.s. friend who always took it upon herself to humiliate and reprimand any boy who hurt PD's feelings!
There is nothing like the sound of our children's laughter to brighten our day and warm our hearts. Welcome home Loralei! Kathy
ReplyDeleteI too, so love having my daughter home in the summer from college and the hustle and bustle of young people in and out of the house. The laughter and good times is fun!!! Oh, to be young again. Love & blessings from NC!
ReplyDeleteThis brings back memories of my own wicked laughter long long ago and that of my daughter and her friends.
ReplyDeleteHugs!
Kat
How were the beets? As someone who has only enjoyed the canned version, except in restaurants, I am eager for details.
ReplyDeleteWhenever I complain about young adult male behaviors, Gary is quick to defend them, telling me it just takes longer for men to mature. Hmm, so what he is saying, is that females are basically born perfect.
I got a few of those phone calla myself. I learned the hard way.
ReplyDeleteGreat story... nothing beats the sound of laughter. Especially when it comes from your child.
ReplyDeleteToo funny!! But it's always refreshing to hear our kids being happy!!
ReplyDeletelove this. Best friends are a blessing... love yours!
ReplyDeleteI felt like I was at your home reading this post. What a place of warmth and fun.
I wanted some beets. Yum. And some vegi pizza. I better eat some more breakfast...you've made me hungry.
Always so glad to come over and get my "belle-fix" :)
Hope you are having a wonderful weekend my friend. :)
Truer words were never spoken Miss Belle, even this Yankee knows that!
ReplyDeleteThe Consort says he is moving in with you; I hope that is okay with Hank. TC just loves (LOVES) beets, and yours truly never makes them, thus the relocation plan!
Smiles at you,
tp
