Lorelai is on a mission trip this week, chaperoning a group of middle schoolers at a Homeworks event in Aiken, SC. They're sleeping on the floor in a school gymnasium at night and working all day. No Lilly dresses this week...and she's going to be worn out when she gets home but I'm figuring it's going to be a GOOD kind of tired after spending a week making such a big difference in the life of a sweet little old lady who REALLY needed help.
Lor is second from the left on the front row in the photo below. Look how dirty her knees are!!
She's our little sweetie pie!!
Good for her!! That is so wonderful!
ReplyDeleteWhat a great trip for her. I did mission trips with my youth group to poor areas in Kentucky and North Carolina working with Habitat for Humanity and loved it!
ReplyDeleteWhat a great trip for her! I did a few of these trips in high school and they were so much fun!
ReplyDeleteGood for her! I always loved mission trips when I was younger.
ReplyDeleteGood for her! It was always easier for me as a teenager to work at someone else's house instead of my own...or so my parents seemed to think anyway! hee hee
ReplyDeleteI know you're so proud of her. Lots of young people are too wrapped up in themselves to even consider helping others, so hats off to Lorelai!
Enjoy your day today Ms. Belle!
That is such a wonderful thing to do! Go Lorelai!
ReplyDeleteIt's always so much easier to work harder when it's not your house. Not so sure why...but good for her! I LOVE volunteer work, especially renovating! It is so nice to see what you accomplish!! I need to find some volunteer work around here to get involved in!
ReplyDeleteGood for Lorelai! Cait was always good about helping others clean, cook, do yard work etc. But not at home! I guess it's a paradox that we'll never understand, I'm just glad that they choose to help someone! Kathy
ReplyDeleteI know you are proud of her. I know she has been working her little self to death, and it has not been a cool week to do it in either. Edisto has been an OVEN! You could not stay on the beach more than two hours at a time or your brain started to boil - that meant only one thing.....go inside and drink a cold beer.
ReplyDeleteGo Lorelai!
That is a wonderful thing to be doing. Thanks for sharing the pictures.
ReplyDeletemy scout is the same way...he will work so hard for a community service/mission project...home=very low output!
ReplyDeleteFunny!
Good for her! She looks like she is working very hard!
What an AWESOME hardworking girl you have!!!!
ReplyDeleteThat really is the best kind of tired.
ReplyDeleteGo, Lorelai!
