Please remember in your prayers...

Today we received the sad news that the son-in-law of my friend and former boss, who retired two years ago, was killed in a terrible accident. He was electrocuted while working on power lines...not even 30 years old. They are hometown folks with two sweet children, and I taught my friend's daughter Lauren, in middle school. This family is strong and they are good and faithful people. Please lift them up.

Lest we forget, life is a beautiful but fragile thing. We seriously deny ourselves so much of the beauty by getting bogged down in petty and trivial things. I let that happen to me this afternoon...ruined about three good hours that I'll never get back because I was annoyed with the outcome (or lack of outcome as the case may be) of a meeting at the office. I'm going to do better...life is too short.

  6. You know...it's just one of those days I think. I saw a bicycler hit by a truck that crossed the center line, and the victim was so bad off, they couldn't get him stabilized enough to life flight him out when I left the scene. I think about how if I had been just a few minutes sooner, I could have been in that wreck. Then, I read another blog, where a fellow blogger died of a stroke about a week after having a baby. It's just a sad night in blogland. Hopefully, it will be a better day tomorrow, as we are thankful for the gift of another day.

Things like this are definitely a reminder that life is too short and you never know when the world as you know it is going to fall to pieces.

  15. I will certainly keep that family in my prayers. Your thoughts are so true. When we can't make heads or tails of situations such as this one, it's best to try and change ourselves and the things that we have control over to make ourselves better people. I will certainly be more mindful of that too! I'm sorry for your loss, but thank you for sharing.
