Lorelai started her summer job at the bank on Monday morning. She had to be there at 9:30 am and got off at 5:00 pm. Today, Tuesday, she had to be there at 8:20 am and got off at 5:10 pm. She had an hour for lunch both days.
I went in to work on Monday morning around 7:00 am and got home about 6:30 pm. Today, I went in about 7:15 am and got home at 9:45 pm....school board meeting night. Legare and Hank were STILL cooking supper and Lorelai was in the bed asleep. I went upstairs and asked her about her day. She turned over, looked up and said, "Work makes me tired."
I know just what she means...

My daughter started her internship on Monday and she works from 9:30 till 5pm. She loves it, but says that it is so tiring. Welcome to the real world!!! Work is so different from school, isn't it? Love & blessings from NC!
ReplyDeleteToo funny ~ the real world is a little more tiring than classes and hanging out :)

Cute!
ReplyDeleteIs she going to have any pool and fun time this summer? Weekends I suppose. Tell her to just wait til she's done with school and has to work and support herself and pay bills and worry about all that jazz. Now that's when you know you are a grown up!
Cait's schedule sounds more like yours, there were two days last week when she was in a 7 and not home till 9 (pm). Guess they want her to know the "real" life of a band director :) Hope all is well with you, and congrats to Lorelai on the job! Kathy
ReplyDeleteHa! Now she's getting it!

ReplyDeleteToo funny... I remember those days. I remember a very serious phone call from my mom when I was in college - I was complaining about how much I had to do and how tired I was. Oh boy, did I get an earful about college being my only job and how I was my only responsibility. I can still remember that call. Very funny how it all comes back.
