On school board meeting nights during executive session, several of us always sit around shooting the breeze. The other night we were talking about our children and one of my colleagues related the following...
One night, he and his wife, along with their eleven year old son (now a grown man) were watching television. There was a sitcom on and one of the scenes was a bit heavy on sexual innuendo and his wife mentioned out the side of her mouth that perhaps they should change the channel since the eleven year old was in the room.
The son leaned over to his dad and whispered, "I don't know what mom is getting so upset about. I'm probably going to have to have sex one day so I might as well know how it works."
Gotta give him credit for thinking ahead...

ReplyDeleteThat is really hilarious!
ReplyDeleteVery cute!
ReplyDeleteMy word, I don't even think I knew what sex was at 11. Boy, have times changed. Sounds like Dad needs to have THAT talk! I thing I would have fallen off the chair laughing.
ReplyDeleteThat is priceless!!! So cute. Kids know more than we give them credit for. When I taught pre-school I was amazed at what some of the kids would tell me that they had "observed". I should have written a book. Love & blessings from NC!
ReplyDeleteOh brother, how did they keep a straight face?! That is too cute, what a great story. Kathy
ReplyDeleteha! I love that.
ReplyDeleteLife would be perfect if all men had learned romantic behavior from TV, or better yet, romance novels.
ReplyDeleteLOL. Thanks so much for your kind and supportive comment. Have a wonderful wknd. xo
ReplyDeleteI can relate. I have a 16 yr. old and we have always been pretty honest with him. He was in 3rd grade and he said daddy can't make anymore babies because he doesn't have any squirrels left:)
ReplyDeleteThanks for jogging my memory and making me think of that. It made me smile.
