Merciful Heavens Mark Sanford...

Our governor has done it again and it's not good. He ran away for a week and nobody knew where he was. Instead of "Where's Waldo? " we were playing "Where's the Governor?"

QUIT CRYING, you big baby.

He was in Argentina with his girlfriend. His wife was at the beach with the boys. She asked him to leave two weeks ago. His "people" thought he was hiking the Appalachian Trail all alone. A reporter figured it out and met him as he got off of the plane in Atlanta.

Put your family first, man...RESIGN, be a strong example for your boys and go heal your marriage, if indeed that is possible.

Go here to read about it if you can stomach it...oh...now I hear on the news that there are E-MAILS!! Good grief...

  2. The tears ALWAYS come once they are caught. I wish he would just go away and spare the public and his humiliated family the details.

  7. This one is just so over the top Miss Belle, talk about some shock and awe. What is with these guys...?! What happened to discretion being the better part of valor?

I'll go away now before I really start a whine-a-thon. Harrumph. At least it made me feel better seeing what you had to say on the topic.

Hopefully tomorrow will be a better day, special smiles to darling Ned only because I'm thinking of him!

  8. I could not agree with you more. He had so much to be thankful for - thriving career, presidential aspirations, a beautiful family, health, wealth - and he throws it all away for an affair with a woman he saw a handful of times! This is a huge embarrassment for him and he needs to resign asap!

  9. I'm actually watching CNN right now and they've spent the last 20 minutes on this story. How bizarre.

  13. Honestly, how did he think that no one would figure this out? I mean if you are in a position as important as the Governor, don't you think people might wonder if you just up and disappear? Good grief indeed. Kathy

  14. I saw this on the news tonight. This is incredibly sad. This type of thing seems to be surfacing a lot lately with our representatives. Mercy.

Did his boys think he was missing all of this time? Poor kids.

I feel so bad for his wife and boys.

  15. I didn't think the whole "missing" thing made any sense...should have known!!

  18. Do NOT read the emails unless you are prepared to be sickened. They were WAY too mushy for me- I am not a romantic person to begin with and to imagine it was written by our governor, a man with 4 children and a wife is absurd.

And, I agree with your comment on my post- I can't stand Andre Bauer either and don't think he'd be any better, but I am fed up with Sanford.

  20. I bet OUR ex-gov Mike Easley and John Edwards are doing a little happy dance today. I'm in NC and it has been awful here lately - our ex first lady's job, emails, etc. I'm sure you've heard of some of it.

Been out of touch for a while - but I'm back now - been missing y'all - hope everything is well with you and your family!!

  21. Maybe Bill Clinton should throw some clinics for these Governors on how to cheat, get caught and still keep your job...lol

I feel very sad for the families these men hurt.

  22. Totally agree! But I'll bet the loss of his marriage isn't what he's boo-hooing about. I'll bet it's the loss of his power and title. Typical politician.

  23. Resign?? No! Personally, he madea HUGE error! I mean he screwed up royally. But, he is still a wonderful governor. He has been a shining example of fiscal conservatism. His descisions as governor have been spot on!

  24. I know who the first anonymous is...Legare. He isn't an Andre Bauer fan and neither am I...it's scary to be sure.

Anonymous #2...Thanks so much for commenting...really, I am sincere. I cannot; however, agree with you on the wonderful governor part because of his very clear bias AGAINST public education. He has tried everything that he possibly could to ruin public education in the state of South Carolina and that is a SIN and a SHAME. Our legislature has its faults (who doesn't) as well, but at least they've stood firm against the voucher issue, and thanks to SCASA and others, we will get the much needed stimulus money to keep teachers in the classrooms and therefore class sizes as low as possible (at least in my county, that is what we are doing.)

My husband and I sent one child to public school and the other to private school. Both kids did great. It was our choice and we wrote a check each and every year for the private school tuition. No tax credit either. The state government does not need to be in the business of paying private K-12 tuition.

Come back again...Anonymous #2...I love a good debate (but I think I'm ready to let the Sanford issue go...nothing else to say about it.)

  25. Totally agree with ya~
I was appalled at how he apologized to his girlfriend first and then everyone else!
    And no, who wants Andre!?
I don't think he should resign, his political career is OVER now anyway.
And to the anon who thinks he is so wonderful, puleeze!
