Thanksgiving 2010 in Asheville and a MOST Unfortunate Football Game Ever

We took a few days over Thanksgiving and headed to the Biltmore Inn in Asheville.  We collected Lorelai along the way and Legare motored in from Chapel Hill.  Delicious food...quality time with our children...a little shopping...a massage and facial at the Inn spa. On Saturday, we headed to Clemson for the state rivalry game, USC vs. Clemson.

Tailgating =  FUN
Game = NOT ONE SINGLE BIT OF FUN

And that is all I'm going to say about that...

How about some fun photos?  Yes, I thought you'd like that.  Hope that your holiday was the best ever.  Two slideshows...one of Asheville and the second of the tailgate...

  2. What a wonderful time you had in Asheville. Such a beautiful place to stay. I love Biltmore Village. Chelsea's is the best place to eat for lunch/brunch if you have never eaten there. They have yummy desserts! Sorry about the game, but at least you had fun. Glad you had a nice Thanksgiving away. Enjoy your week. You are on the countdown until Christmas vacation. That is the one thing I always loved about teaching... the Christmas and summer vacations! Love & blessings from NC!

  4. Okay, you have got to explain "tailgating" to me. I've never done it and it looks like a whopping party, with awesome friends and awesome food. How do you decide who brings what, or do you just show up with stuff to share. Do you know who is coming to the party, or is it total strangers? I've just got to figure out how to do this and have a tailgate party.
    Loved the slide shows, beautiful photos.
    Sorry to rub it in and maybe it's in poor taste, but my Aggies whopped the Longhorns (woo hoo).

  7. I'm so sorry about your Tigers. I completely understand the intra-state rivalry (I'm a tiger from another state- without a lake) You'll get'em next year!! You tailgated well, and that's all that mattered! ;)

    Just wanted to let you know I made your caramel pecan pie for Thanksgiving, and it was everyone's favorite dessert (I also made pumpkin pie and pumpkin spice latte cheesecake)! Thanks again for sharing that recipe!
