Ramblings...

Hank and I are mildly addicted to television. We both work in busy offices and have to operate in a "political frame" (read "Organizational Behaviors" by Bolman and Deal) the majority of the time. It's tiring and we like to come home, take care of daily odds and ends, eat some supper and go on little mental vacations in front of the television.

I don't know why we like what we like, but we're generally compatible TV watchers. We mourned the end of West Wing and The Sopranos...neither of us gets Survivor or most of the other reality shows with the exception of American Idol, and my dirty little secret, Celebrity Apprentice. We laugh our heads off at Big Bang Theory...and then there's LOST!!

Incidentally...we're watching American Idol now and tonight's twelve are VERY disappointing thus far. Some of the girls are over-performing to the point of looking "affected" somehow.

This kid, Kai, is pretty cute though...He loves his mother very much! He also reminds me of Sayid from LOST so that definitely gives him an edge in my book.

Guess what I'm doing on Saturday morning...Hot Rocks Massage. Hank gave me a gift certificate in my Christmas stocking. Ninety minutes of BLISS...I could use some bliss. How about you?

Tell us...what brings you bliss??

Oh wait...the last kid, Adam. He's quite the talent...WOW. Randy compared him to Edward Cullen...oh my goodness! Hank has no idea who Edward Cullen is...that's another of my dirty little secrets...I might be in love with a vampire.

I rambled through this one pretty well, didn't I?
Told ya! You didn't doubt me, did you?

  3. You and your husband sound just like us. Right down to the same shows. The Sopranos....I'm still mourning it.
We have tonight's AI recorded and will watch it later after the kids are in bed. Is it just more, or does this season seem...BLAHHHH. Hoping when they get down the final 12, things will pick up.

    What brings me bliss?
Seeing my children asleep in their bed...hehe. Aside from the peace and quiet that bed time brings, I do get warm fuzzy feelings when I go in to check on them one last time. I'm reminded of their innocence and how blessed I am to be their mom.

    Ohhh and chocolate. hehe

  5. I love it when you ramble lol! The Big Bang Theory is one of our favorite shows, it's one of the few things that we ALWAYS watch - rock, paper, scissors, lizard, spock - that just cracks me up. And the episode when Sheldon's mother showed up - classic! I watch American Idol, I didn't get to see much of it tonight, how did my little music teacher who lost his wife do? Now I'm rambling! Have fun at your rock massage, sounds wonderful. Kathy

  6. I am also in love with Edward Cullen.

    I have no shame.

I told Clay that he better be glad I didn't read Twilight before I met him, otherwise I would have had MUCH higher expectations of my future husband.

    He just laughed at me.

Probably because he didn't think I was serious.

  9. We also like Big Bang Theory and How I Met Your Mother also.We loved the Sopranos. I never had a hot rocks massage, it sounds like heaven!
If you have been to my blog, you will notice that I too, am in love with Edward. Rob is cute- as Edward. Not a fan of the short hair and facial hair but in the movie he was so hot I hyperventilated. It was also the way he looked at Bella. Whew!!
I have never watched lost or AI. I am the only one, I'll bet.
Enjoy your massage and tell me all about it, I need one!

  16. I agree a lot of the performers last night were just not good! Kai had a great voice, I guess the song he chose just wasn't right though. Adam to me looks like a long-lost member of the Jonas Brothers!

  17. It was a bit of a disappointing night on American Idol. Adam was really good...but the rest of them were less than stellar. It will be interesting to see who America puts through. I hate to admit it...but I LOVE that show. It's a must see for me....poor hubby went downstairs and watched the Jazz game. I am a diehard Utah Jazz fan...but it is trumped by American Idol lol

  23. About your Mother and Ned, it'snever easy. Period. No matter what you do, there will always be "If I had done it differently..." If your Mother were 40 and you had been able to sit down with her and really talk about this time in her future, what would she have said? "Do your best for us and don't let us make you miserable!" I've already had 'the talk' with my daughters and offered to write it down for them, alas, they forget when the time comes.
