If you can't laugh at yourself...

As we headed for Clemson last Friday afternoon, I asked Hank if he'd packed our orange ponchos. No...he replied...because it isn't going to rain.

We had to buy two blue ponchos (the orange ones were sold out everywhere) on Saturday morning because it WAS raining. And it was cold.

As we walked toward the stadium, I asked...Did you bring the umbrella? No...he replied...because it is going to stop raining. About five minutes later, he decided to go back to get the umbrella. And the blanket that I had the good sense to throw in the back seat.

Lorelai decided to sit with us and we had the best time. We aren't as boring as she thinks we are. Even though it was wet and chilly, it was a fabulous game and Clemson pounded the Demon Deacons of Wake Forest. I liked it. I liked it a lot.
Which leads me to today and the reason that Lorelai isn't going to get anything for Christmas but switches. She took a photo of me during halftime as I sat there with the blanket on my lap and my arms inside the poncho. I look like a giant 500 pound woman blob. When I said in the last post that I'd gained weight I didn't mean THAT much weight.

So...for your viewing enjoyment (and because I can laugh at myself) the photo of the big blue blob...

  5. You have a look of contentment. It brings to mind the movie The Tin Drum. I know, for some people, football is better than sex...

  7. Glad you enjoyed the game (and victory) even though it was raining. You are a cute blob, even if you are blue!!! Orange was never my best color, but if you are a Clemson fan, I guess it has to be your good color! I think Carolina is on fall break this week. Maybe you will get to see your son. Love & blessings from NC!

  9. You look great and your are a true fan if you sat through the game in that weather. I am a fair weather fan myself! Orange would have been better though seeing how it is almost Halloween and all!

  10. Who would have thought it would rain AGAIN......but the important thing is we WON - and a much needed win it was. After the birthday party - the adults kicked back in the clubhouse with an adult soda and cheered the tigers on -- I just hope we play like that against Miami this week-end.

As long as you are dry and warm - and you are at a Clemson football game - the world is GOOD my friend.

  11. LOL!

You just look like you are under a tarp silly girl!

But you would still be beautiful if you were 500 lbs. (That's how big I feel right now!)

    :)

  12. I was so busy admiring your bag that I didn't even notice anything else! I think you look very practical and more importantly, WARM. And yes, I think switches are in order, if not coal lol. Kathy

  13. And i will bet that with that poncho on nobody knew it was you! I froze at a competition the other day and I looked like a homeless person with the mismatched hat and holey gloves that i grabbed out of the closet on the way out thinking I would not get cold. I thought about the cashmere scarf and matching gloves I got last year but kept going. I was so cold!

  14. It's always cold and rainy at football games! At least that's my experience! I'm sure orange is better than blue!

  15. I loved the 'nothing but switches for Christmas.' I can't wait for Jason to make me mad so I can say it to him.

The clown below completely freaked me out. I am going to see him around every corner all day. Thanks a lot.

  17. I think I love you from afar; how many of us ladies have one of THOSE lurking somewhere, usually taken by one of the kids. Now THAT'S a woman who KNOWS WHO SHE IS!

And I don't even know where Clemson IS.

I'm gonna run and duck real quick, OK?

Hopefully this Saturday will be sunnier than the rest. :-)
