Taking Control...Poor Roy

BIG wake up call when I reposted some things about me and realized that I'd gained back most of the weight I lost a year or so ago. I am NONE to proud of that and aim to do something about it and NOW!

I went off the rails when Todd the Trainer bailed on me last year about this time, so actually, considering that I haven't exercised worth a toot in the past year, I did pretty well to gain ONLY 20 pounds. Still and all, I'm disappointed in myself...very very disappointed. To make matters worse, I have absolutely no desire to exercise. I don't like it. I don't get the whole "oh I feel SO good after I exercise" thing. I don't feel good. I feel TIRED...and hot...and sweaty. Yuck!

SO...I told Hank this morning that my mission before I came home from work this afternoon was to engage a new trainer and that I did. It's sad that I need to employ a complete stranger to hold me accountable, but it is what it is! Only thing is his name doesn't start with a "T" so that's going to blow my alliteration thing. Roy...his name is Roy...what can I do with an "R"...

Roy Really Rocks...Roy Rules the Roost...Roy Rants and Raves (that one will probably be pretty close to the truth)...Roy's Ridiculous Routines...Roy Rubs me wRong...

Anyhow...we start on Tuesday afternoon right after work and will meet twice a week. Poor Roy...he has NO idea what he's in for.

  4. Good luck with the trainer. I have found doing a group class has been very helpful for me, I have met some great gym "buddies" and we continue to meet and work out together. I also take a "boot camp" class, quite a workout and it has made a terrific difference in how my clothes fit. I would love to lose weight but menopause has made that harder so I am happy that I have been able to change how my clothes fit. Stick with it and you will see changes!!! Love your blog.

  5. Sorry Belle, but for me, this is gonna be so much fun!!
Cannot wait to hear about your new escapades - I'm here for you all the way - I'll be the one lounging back and cheering you and Rockin' Roy on - like you - I hate to work out - all that sweating, jumping, moving, yuck!

Happy Friday - go get 'em!

  6. Good luck! I am with you on the "workouts are not fun" thing. I abhor exercise. I just don't like it. I never have and I probably never will. I never played sports in high school. I would much rather watch TV or go out to eat or cook or shop. Ha! :)

  9. At least with someone making you move, you will not have a choice.

I think everyone I know is in a Zumba class. I am so sick of reading how happy they feel, when the idea of jumping around with others in the room, is about as appealing as...I can't even think of a word. I put the L in lazy, and my jiggly thighs and upper arms prove that rather well.

I look forward to reading about your exercise.
