I might be getting "mo" back...not quite got the "jo" yet.

Sometime the brain just needs a rest. Yesterday marked the official end of my first year as principal.  Today started year two.  I'm feeling pretty good about that.

Had my yearly physical today.  Apparently I'm strong as an ox but am feeling like I WEIGH as much as said ox.  I have not been attentive to my Weight Watchers...haven't exercised a lick.  Just walked around the outside of the house one time.  Does that count?

NEW PROJECT--Master bedroom redo. I've even got Hank on board and it's a good thing because he is an excellent painter.  He's got about three weeks before the new curtains are ready.  I'm SO EXCITED!

Have you seen Toddlers and Tiaras?  Don't get me wrong.  I love a nice tiara...and big hair...but honest to goodness, some of those parents are living in CRAZYtown.  Poor little girls...most of them of them look like drag queen Chuckie dolls. Lorelai was in her one and only pageant her senior year in high school. She was second runner up, most photogenic, and best essay.  Sure...we were incredibly proud.  Also exhausted...that was the most nerve wracking thing. We were very fortunate that once was enough for her as well. Look at the difference between a teenage contestant and a child. What say YOU?

Legare has gone off the grid as he prepares for the bar exam in about four weeks. He did take time to find a place to live in Charlotte so there will be a big move from Chapel Hill the first weekend in August and the firm is covering all of his relocation expenses. Being all young and hip, he's going to try urban high rise apartment living for a bit.  Seventy hour work weeks won't leave much time for taking care of a house and yard.

Back soon...

  1. Happy 4th friend! I had my year-end meeting with the Board members of the organization that pays me. It went well. Picture a room full of college grad Presidents, CEO's, Gen. Mgrs. with me answering their questions about my at-risk students. They mostly leave in shock. You can only imagine. :-) Glad things are going well with the children. Please share pics of the redo! Yes, talk about creepy parents - T and T. xoxo

  2. Congratulations on the successful completion of your first year as a principal. I so enjoy your blog and ususally have a few "belly" laughs as I read. Hope you have a fun and safe July 4.

  3. You made it through your first year, yea!
I'll bet you are so proud!
That hair on that baby (and she IS still a baby with those chubby cheeks) is insane.
Lor, on the other hand, looks like a princess.
There is something to be said for strength.

  4. So glad your boy's got a job. My nearly-lawyer son does too, but so many don't. They're fortunate. Downtown Charlotte is fabulous now--wasn't when we lived in the area in the nineties. He'll love it in his limited spare time!

  5. Congrats on surviving your first year! It's a great feeling isn't it? Make sure you take some time to relax and regroup over the summer-I kind of neglected that last summer and Year 2 was a doozy for me. Lesson learned, and I'm being more diligent about the R & R this summer.

I feel so badly for the kiddos on T & T...

  6. Congrats on a successful first year! T and T is concerning....they absolutely have gone overboard!! What kind of life will these children have??!!! (Hope you're able to read this.....we're camping so I'm using my BB! Happy 4th!!

  7. Congratulations on your one year anniversary! And the master suite makeover....sweet! And the entering of a new phase for your son!
    Happy 4th of of July~

  8. Just watched several episodes of Toddlers and Tiaras this afternoon while recovering from sitting on the beach all afternoon. It is like watching a train wreck.... you really don't want to watch it, but just cannot turn away.

Love Lorelai's gown. She looks beautiful.

My daughter is spending the summer in CH in school and she says it is like a ghost town compared to how it is in during school. Good Luck on the move!

Please makes me HAPPY!
