Game Day...A New Obsession
Oh my goodness...we just had the most WONDERFUL time yesterday at Clemson's first home game. Hank and I are very committed to the institutions of higher learning that we attended but neither of them had a football team so our children did not grow up spending Saturdays in a stadium. Lorelai text messaged me in the middle of the game with this...I can't believe that you've deprived me of this experience for my whole entire life!!!!! So...it looks like we've become a member of the Clemson football family. I do; however, have a bit of "tailgate envy." Yesterday we went with a minimalist approach as I wanted to survey the situation, but give me few weeks and I'll have it ALL figured out by the Georgia Tech at Clemson game. You'll see a picture in my slide show of a really nice setup complete with portable satellite dish and television. We won't be going quite THAT nice...

Looks like such fun! It makes me wish I lived in a college town!!
ReplyDeleteGlad you guys enjoyed your first Clemson game! I've had the privledge of going since I was about 3 years old, but I still get goose bumps when I see the buses pull up outside The Hill!!
ReplyDeleteI'm thinking distance is what I'm going to need for one of my friendships as well. We'll see what happens. I hate drama and I was reminded yesterday of how some people just thrive on it. Yucky feeling!
So happy you had a great time in my little town! We do know how to tailgate (although, the whole satelitte TV thing has always made me laugh!) Tailgating even gets competitive up here--people trying to have a "fancier" set-up than their neighbors. Crazy! I'm looking forward to next weekend's game--I don't have to work, so I can actually attend the game! Have a great week!
ReplyDeletelike true southern girls... at the game in way too cute sundresses. i am jealous. i never took advantage of the ecu games. we might have to start. those pictures make we have football fever bad. :-)
ReplyDeleteYou gotta love those tailgates! I didn't make it to yesterday's game... hubby went by himself! Most people we tailgate with hate me because everything has to be just right! I especially love when the weathter cools down a bit!
ReplyDeleteI am always amazed at the lenghts that many go when tailgating!! I also don't know how people do it hours on end in this terrible FL heat!! Like sitting in a packed stadium in 90+ degree weather isn't bad enough! All for the love of college football ;)
ReplyDeleteAnyway ... glad that you had a good time. Love seeing the darling girls in their cute dresses. We also had a wonderful weekend at UF :)

Looks like a fabulous time! I don't remember wearing dresses to tailgate parties when I was at MSU. Maybe it's a southern thing? :)
ReplyDeleteWe are going to my husband 25th reunion from the Naval Academy in a few weeks. One of the events is attending the game on Saturday. The class always throws a huge catered tailgate party ~ very impressive. I guess I better go shopping for something new to wear now that I see the bar is set so high! :)
The girls are dolls! It looks like a great time. I can't wait to see what you come up with for the next game/tailgate. ;)
