Duh...Is that a legal term??

The day after I posted about the ungentlemanly conduct of the manager of the Atlanta Bread Company I received this comment...

"ABC couldn't serve you at 7:45 because it would be a breach of their franchise agreement to serve you anything before the opening time explicitly noted in the aforementioned agreement. Duh"

So I'm thinking "DUH"????? What the heck and who is this person commenting on my post with made up legal mumbo jumbo and a DUH!? I was about to get all BELLE on somebody...

It was Legare...

  1. You go girl! Some people enjoy trying to make themselves feel all superior. Probably a law student trying to get some practice in. I also noticed the person signed their post "mf" and we all know what that stands for. Duh.

  2. I wouldn't be so judgmental, Belle. In some legal markets making up that kind of "mumbo jumbo" goes for $400 an hour.

Although I can't imagine too many senior partners would appreciate seeing a "duh" at the end of a memo...

  5. I'm not sure if it's a legal term but my friend and I (who worked together for a law firm) used it ALL the time when talking about the attorneys. LOL

  6. Well, I do believe that you may just have yourself a real lawyer in your family before long! It sounds as if he has the cadence of "legalspeak" well underway! He also has a wicked sense of humor! That is ALWAYS a help, reguardless of the profession!
