Three Quotation Thursday...What Do You Think?

We would worry less about what other people think of us if we realized how seldom they do. Ethel Barrett

Other people are worried about what we think while we're worried about what they think. Apparently, we're just one great big self-absorbed bunch of people. But REALLY, you do like me, don't you?? DON'T YOU!!!??!

A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it well worth the effort. Herm Albright

I'm going to give this one a whirl for a week and see what happens. When somebody throws out a negative/pessimistic thought, I'm going to counter with a happy positive optimistic thought. Want to try it with me and report back in a week?? Comment and commit!

"Nothing gives a person so much advantage over another as to remain always cool and unruffled under all circumstances." Thomas Jefferson

I've actually been trying to practice this for a while...sometimes I do better than others BUT, when I can stay unruffled, it can really throw the high strung person off their game.

  1. Yet again, three great quotes. I love you they all stay true to the same theme.

I especially love the last one, because it's so so true. I try to practice it (even though in my head I'm raging).

  4. I love this week's quote. I've been trying really hard lately to practice these theories...every since the first home game to be exact. So far, I think it works wonders, especially for MY mood and mental stability!

  5. Each one of those really is so true. It's rare that I actually identify with quotes that people post, but all three of them really hit home. Not sure which one I like the most! Thanks for sharing them, and for visiting me today!

  6. I love the second one and will make it my motto for this week. I will let you know the number of people no longer speaking with me.

  7. Love your quotations! The older I get, the less I care what others really think about me. With a positive attitude, and by attempting to remain unruffled by the "Negative Nancys" of the world, I just keep on going, and going, like the Energizer Bunny! And of course, we ALL like Belle! If we did not, we would just stop reading! ;-)

  9. #1- I just had this realization this morning while in my car. Long story, but so true.

#2-My husband says he loves this about me. He tells me, your offense is the best defense. (did I get it right?) I try to sound positive and it DOES really annoy people. Especially the "debbie-downers".

#3-This one is so true. I've been mistaken for being this way in certain situations and it always works to my advantage. When in reality, I really just don't know what to say or don't want to get involved. Either way, it works. However, if it's a situation where it involves my kids and someone wronging them...all bets are off."Cool and unruffled" are out the window. ha.

I really love your quotation Thursday. Have a great weekend!

  10. These are some good ones. #1 especially. My Mom used to tell me that, 'They don't really care how you look as long as they think they look good.' Lol, yes, we like you.

  11. I like the one about the positive attitude. Makes me smile to think of annoying people just by always looking on the bright side of life.

Thanks for the supportive comments. It really helps.

  12. I love what Thomas Jefferson said...I always tell my kids that but not in such an elegant way as Jefferson!
