My Inquiring Mind Wants to Know...

Where did the week go?

I'm finishing my Christmas shopping tomorrow. How 'bout you?

My brother Ned is supposed to take a HANDMADE gift to a Christmas party.  I just hot-glued twine to three silver spray-painted pine cones.  Is that bad?

When Hank came downstairs at 5:45 this morning, he walked into the kitchen to find me holding a cup of coffee in one hand and a bottle of bourbon in the other.  Whatcha think about that???

In my defense, I was mixing up a sweet potato casserole for a dinner we're going to tonight...it called for 1/4 cup of bourbon.  You didn't really think I was drinking bourbon, did you?

Ten more school days until Christmas vacation!  Who's excited??

I need a good book to read...my "to read" shelf is bare.  Any ideas?

Have a fabulous weekend...I know I deserve one.  Don't you?

  3. Yes, 14 days for me, and I'm glad ;-). Tana French is a new mystery writer I have recently "met" - I finished In the Woods. Psychological thriller, mystery, great command of the language stylistically - but an easy read. It did take me a chapter or two to get into it, but then it had me. I love the image of you with coffee and bourbon before school. Hilarious! Xoxo

  4. Love your blog! Try One Summer by David Baldacci. Not his usual type of book.

  5. "The Dogs I Have Met (and the People They Found" by Ken Foster. A great book if you've ever had a special dog in your life. :)

  6. "Unbroken" by Laura Hillebrand if you haven't read it. A non-fiction page turner that will have you in tears and laughter. One of the best books I have ever read and I've read millions.

  7. Ever read any of Dorothea Benton Frank's books? She writes about places like the Low Country Islands; so does Anne Rivers Siddon. I just started reading Mary Kay Andrews's books and the last one took place in Tybee Island, Ga. It was hard to put down, once I started it. I think you would like all of the writers. Since you live in SC, they probably would really appeal to you.
