We talked and talked...I couldn't tell you what was happening around us if my life depended on it. We talked about our families and blogs that we enjoy. We'd already discovered that we knew some folks in common since Steph used to work in Hometown, so we talked about those people too. Turns out that we lead very similar lifestyles and that our values, as well as our expectations for our children, are much the same. I do; however, have a few years on her
When Steph walked in she said something like, this is exciting but a little strange...I felt like I was getting ready for a blind date!
At that point, I had to tell her about Hank's concern that I was meeting "a stranger" for lunch and that I could be ABDUCTED! I suppose that people who don't "get" blogging have a hard time understanding how nice it is to meet someone whose life you've been reading about and who you've been trading e-mails with.
It was a thoroughly delightful experience and I have no doubt that we'll try to get together again. I've had a couple of comments today that some of you might like to join us...we'll have to see what we can do about that.I forgot my camera...sorry 'bout that!
We should definitely meet for lunch when I am at our house at Edisto!
ReplyDeleteI totally enjoyed our lunch and can't wait to do it again! :)
ReplyDeleteSo funny about Hank. But I know what you mean. I met a fellow blogger in Atlanta for lunch one time when I was visiting my daughter before she moved. Well, about halfway through our lunch, daughter calls me. "Mom, is everything okay?" I said of course it was, and then confessed that she was a bit worried that the person I met might have turned out to be a "weirdo." Hilarious!! So glad you had fun. So when are you planning a meet up in Charleston? xoxo
ReplyDeleteSounds like you guys had a blast!!!
ReplyDeleteThat is so funny about Hank!! People that do not blog just don't GET IT..:)
I met a lady (one of my readers)from a nearby town for lunch last summer and my husband was going through the roof. He couldn't believe I was going to do it. It all turned out wonderful...in fact, I need to e-mail her, I just remembered:)
ReplyDeleteSince I retired about three years ago, we have done a lot of traveling. This has made it possible for me to meet a lot of my online friends. I've met people face to face in Boston, New York, Kansas, Oregon and Puerto Rico! I'm really enjoying meeting people that I've talked to online. The best part is that my hubby is usually with me so I don't have to worry about being abducted. :) And the person I'm meeting usually brings her spouse too so the guys talk (probably about how geeky their wives are!) and the gals talk about everything else!
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by to "visit." I hope you'll join us again soon at Rural Socialite!
ReplyDeleteSo funny. Adam was convince Casey was a creepy man who was going to hold me captive in his basement. People don't get it, but it is soooo much fun!!
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad y'all got to get together.
I am glad you two had fun. We must meet when I am at the Edisto house or better yet go SHOPPING!!!
ReplyDeleteI still want to meet up before one of the Clemson home games!
Camera next time! That is so fabulous. I met up with Muffy Martini!
ReplyDeleteWhat a delightful experience! I hope that I am able to meet some of my area blogging friends some day. :)
ReplyDeleteI think that's so wonderful you got to meet one of your friends! I had a meet up last weekend and people who don't blog just don't understand. I get the whole security issue and everything...but these people are not strangers to me :)
ReplyDeleteSo glad you had a great time!
It is delightful that you two met for lunch - and that you lost track of time! What fun to meet someone you have so much in common with. A bloggers group is a good idea.
