Review of Random Rules in The Land of Belle

#1- If you're going to re-gift from the previous year, do not re-gift within the organization where you received said gift to begin with.

#2- Do not, under any circumstances, text or read a text while you drive. If anything is SO important that it can't wait, pull over.

#3- Nineteen year old daughters who live in the Land of Belle, listen UP! Your mother is not stupid. She's actually known to be quite stylish and people often seek her advice. She is a gift giver EXTRAORDINAIRE and picks out wonderful things that people love. You should trust your mother, QUEEN of the Land of Belle.

#4- If you make an appointment to go to the dermatologist three days before Christmas and they want to take a little spot off of your face, ask them if you can wait a week. It will likely be alright and one side of your face won't hurt during the merry making. (Thank goodness I got bangs yesterday when I had my hair done.)

#5- If the dermatologist DOES take a little spot off of your face three days before Christmas it is absolutely positively OK to go directly to Five Guys for a cheeseburger and fries and then have a Peppermint Mocha from Starbucks.

  1. ALL great rules! Especially #3 . . . why is it that off spring of the ripe ol' age of 17 - 21 think we know nothing?! {sigh}

  4. One year at my old job we had a re-gift disaster. An employee, we'll call her A had given another employee, we'll call her B, a margarita making set for her birthday. They were co-workers, but also friends outside of work. B then re-gifted the margarita making set during a steal a gift type party the next Christmas. Of course, A wound up with it, much to her dismay! She never found out if B didn't remember she gave it to her, or what. The following Christmas, A brought that set back for steal a gift. B was livid, but, I'm pretty sure she'll never re-gift again!

  6. Great rules from the Queen of Belle-Land!!

    Happy Holidays to you and your family!

    Oh - PS - LOVE those shoes your girl picked out! Of course, if I were about 15-20 years younger, I'd WANT a pair of those shoes, but, in my world, it is OK for me to look at those but appreciate my nice Life Stride mid-heel (comfy) black shoes! HA!

    PSS - Sorry about the dermatologist thing and yes, thank goodness for bangs - they can cover a multitude of things, eh?

  7. #3 reminds me of what I thought of my mother when I was younger. I am getting paid back in oh, so many ways.

    I do notice a slight difference in the way I am perceived by my 22 year old daughter. In her eyes, I am a tad bit smarter than I was just a year ago...a tad.

  8. Love Rule #2. I hate to admit I have done it once or twice. After I heard on the news that a running back can run the length of a football field and score a TD in the amount of time it takes to text - I stopped. SCARY!

  9. It's scary what can happen while texting - since I get all my information from the Today show (sad, I know), I was blown away by a report they did about how drunk drivers had better control than folks who were texting. Scary stuff.

    Love Belle-land...love it.
